E1010 – SIMS reports failed to produce outputs
All reports have failed to produce outputs. Possible causes are:-
– Incorrect SIMS credentials
– Incorrect Server credentials
– Report definitions not imported into SIMS
Please check the above and try again
The Genie has failed to extract the report data from SIMS. This is because it has either failed to connect to the SIMS database or the reports needed have not been found.
Turn on debugging
To help diagnose the issue you should turn on debugging to provide further information. This is done by ticking the ‘Debugging’ tick box on the ‘Settings’ worksheet.
Run the Pastoral Genie again
When the pastoral genie runs you will now see the commands being passed in Windows Command Processor. You will also see an error message giving more information.
Deal with the relevant error message
1. If the error is
"Login failed for user xxxxx\xxxxx. Reason: Unable to set application role" then you have attempted to use ‘Trusted Login’ when SIMS is not setup to allow this. Go to the ‘Settings’ sheet, click ‘Update Settings’, un-select ‘Trusted Login’ on the ‘Settings’ worksheet and save.
2. If the error is
"Login failed for user xxxxx. Reason: Login failed for user 'xxxxx_xxxxx'." then the username, password or database name provided are incorrect.
Please check your login details and try again.
If username and password are correct, check the database name is correct. This can be checked in SIMS via Help | System Information and within the Genie on the ‘Settings’ worksheet. To update the ‘Database Name’ go to the ‘Settings’ sheet, click ‘Update Settings’, update as needed and save.
3. If the error is
"Login failed for user xxxxx. Reason: A network-related or instance-specific error occurred while establishing a connection to SQL Server. The server was not found or was not accessible. Verify that the instance name is correct and that SQL Server is configured to allow remote connections. (provider: SQL Network Interfaces, error: 26 - Error Locating Server/Instance Specified)" then command reporter is unable to find your SQL Server. Please check the SQL server Name entered into the Genie is correct. This can be checked in SIMS via Help | System Information and within the Genie on the ‘Settings’ worksheet. To update the ‘SQL Server Name’ go to the ‘Settings’ sheet, click ‘Update Settings’, update as needed and save.
4. If the error is
"Report 'xxxxxxxxxxxxx' not found." then a report is missing from SIMS. Please re-import the report package into SIMS. This can be done via Reports | Import, please see out setup guide for more details instructions.
Turn off debugging
Once resolved you should turn debugging off. This is done by un-ticking the ‘Debugging’ tick box on the ‘Settings’ worksheet.
